Job Objective/ Summary
Drivers are responsible for transporting residents in a timely manner and may have to work nights and weekends to accomplish their duties.
Essential Functions
- Transport residents to and from destinations safely, in a timely manner, and on schedule.
- Assist residents with special needs to board and exit vehicles.
- Assist residents with personal items and packages.
- Enter transportation slips on the computer and create a daily schedule. ? Fulfill administrative needs.
- Research and plan for traffic, construction, and weather delays.
- Use navigation applications to determine the best route.
- Always interact with residents and staff professionally.
- Ensure that the vehicle is always fueled and ready for use.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and rules. Other Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain up-to-date mileage and repair records.
- Inspect vehicles for operational fitness before use and at the end of shift.
- Immediately report all needed vehicle repairs.
- Wash and maintain interior of vehicles.
- Immediately report any adverse incidents or accidents
Qualifications and Job Requirement
- A valid CDL driver’s license with passenger endorsement, and at least three years of commercial driving experience.
- Excellent navigation skills and proficiency in using navigation applications.
- Exceptional time management, organizational, communication, and people skills.
Additional Requirements/Preferences
- Must successfully pass the mandated criminal background checks. (https://info.flclearinghouse.com)
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and reference checks.
- Must be able to pass a professional driving test.
- Must have valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
