About this position

Reports To: Branch Manager and Service Manager

Summary/Objective

Provide termite control for residential homes and commercial establishments by identifying potential termite problems, conducting inspections; performing termite pre-treatments and termite post construction treatments while designing and implementing control strategies to resolve all of a customer’s termite control needs.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Being prompt to scheduled appointments.
  • Inspect the property for any areas or situations that are conducive to termite infestations and implement the most effective solution
  • Identify termite activity.
  • Operate and maintain equipment used to complete treatments.
  • Maintain knowledge of applicable laws, rules and regulations governing pesticide application.
  • Document/Record all information by filling out all company inspection forms, in accordance with Company procedures.
  • Effectively communicate with customers and office staff.
  • Thoroughly and efficiently gather customer information, access and fulfill customer needs, educate the customer where applicable in order to prevent conditions conducive to termite infestations.
  • Participate in routine maintenance of Company vehicle and equipment.
  • Practice workplace safety procedures as outlined in the Company’s Safety Manual.
  • Operate company vehicle in a safe and effective manner to minimize the risk of injury, property, damage or loss of life.
  • Clean vehicles as scheduled and/or required.
  • Dress Professionally.  Maintain company uniforms in neat and professional manner.  Follow company dress code.
  • Communicate with Manager immediately if questions arise in the field concerning treatment protocols.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Able to identify common household pests and WDOs
  • Knowledge of proper treatment methods for pests
  • Knowledge of inspections requirements for WDOs and pest problems in residences and commercial establishments
  • Ability to perform recommended treatments
  • Knowledge of residential, commercial, and remodeling construction and building techniques
  • Comfortable wearing safety equipment including respirator, goggles, etc.
  • Comfortable in small, confined spaces (i.e. crawlspaces)
  • Able to safely operate a vehicle
  • Reading, legible & accurate writing, and drawing
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with all equipment used to execute treatments
  • Basic math skills

Minimum Qualifications

  • Possess current Driver License in the state where you work and maintain a driving record consistent with company standards
  • High school degree or equivalent experience
  • Present a professional appearance including wearing an approved uniform
  • Able to work a 40-hour work week
  • Drug-free workplace
  • Able to pass a pre-employment background check

  • Stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching frequently
  • Pulling a spray hose while exerting up to 70 lbs. of force for 100 feet frequently
  • Must be able to access confined spaces such as crawl spaces and attics and be able to maneuver through them
  • Climbing occasionally on a ladder
  • Lifting hands and arms overhead, reaching and grasping, such as webbing and removal of wasp nests
  • Manual dexterity/fine motor skills utilized frequently
  • Operating a company truck daily from approximately 8 until 5
  • Ability to communicate orally and hear customers frequently
  • Working outdoors daily and at times in extreme temperatures - heat or cold and at times noisy environment
  • Wearing PPE regularly - protective glasses, protective gloves, ear protection, respirator, dust mask
  • Exposure to pesticides, solvents, and chemicals on a daily basis

Environmental Factors

  • Work both indoors and outdoors, in all weather conditions
  • May withstand extreme conditions such as heat in an attic in Summer or chill of crawlspace in Winter
  • Exposure to vegetation, dust, dirt, and animal remains
  • Some work in confined spaces
