Network Engineer

  • POSITION PURPOSE
    • A network engineer is responsible for installing, maintaining and supporting computer communication networks within the organization and between organizations. The network engineer will apply current technical knowledge, proven communication and problem-solving skills and established best practices while designing, implementing, supporting and documenting client networks.
  • MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED
    • Associate Degree in: Computer Sciences or equivalent work experience.
  • MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
    • 1 to 3 years

  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED
    • Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend the English language.
    • Ability to organize, analyze, problem-solve technical issues (including knowledge transfer).
    • Maintain and create documentation of all networked systems.
    • LAN/WAN network infrastructure, service, and topologies within the TCP/IP and OSI model.
    • Knowledge of enterprise virtualization platforms.
    • Enterprise Storage Systems: SAN, NAS, and backups.
    • Microsoft Technologies: active directory, azure, system center.
    • Security: knowledge of enterprise network and system security needed to meet compliance and regulatory requirements.
    • Remote Access Solutions: SSL-VPN, client-to-site VPN, site-to-site VPN.
    • Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms.
    • Knowledge of largescale enviornments.
    • Ability to work well in a team.
    • Ability to lead and manage multiple tasks/projects.
    • Resourcefulness and problem solving aptitude.
  • PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES
    • Identifies, diagnoses and resolves network problems within appropriate time frame.
    • Configures, tests and maintains LAN/WAN equipment and related services.
    • Provides legacy and enterprise systems network analysis, support and administration.
    • Creates and maintains documentation for all implemented network systems.
