We are currently seeking a dependable, hard-working General Operator A to join our production team in Union City, PA. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone with a strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and a willingness to learn.

Competency Requirements:

Qualifications:

General. Employees must

  • Understand the flow of work between inserting, vulcanizing, coupling assembly, and test table.
  • Understand the production schedule.
  • Know how to safely and properly handle (and lift) fire hose in all areas, including long lengths or reels to and from the tables, and palletizing heavy coils.
  • Properly prepare/skid product for shipment.

Test Table Area. Employees must

  • Understand stencil process, and understand how to read stencil specs when required.
  • Understand how to hook hose up to adapters and use all safety devises.
  • Understand how to run controls to test hose to proper test pressures.
  • Understand draining process of the hose coil.

Coupling Area. Employees must

  • Know how to set up, and operate the expansion machines.
  • Couple Storz couplings.

102 Area. Employees must

  • Operate snake at lower end of insert table.
  • Insert rubber at upper end of insert table
  • Properly understand how to connect hose at the top end of the cure table.
  • Maintain adapters, bells, and cables.
  • Stencil hose per specs.
  • Understand and operate touch screen on top end
  • Cutting and coiling plug gauges on all hose.
  • Understand the Perforator and Reverser.

Normalizing Area. Employees must

  • Properly hook up and unloading reels.
  • Hook up and maintain adapters, bells, and cables.
  • Understand how to run controls to normalize and water test hose.
  • Read a pie tape.
  • Inspect a hose for defects.
  • Understand how to stencil hose to spec.
  • Properly prepare hose for shipment.


Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Employee must be physically able to work in areas so as to not harm themselves or others, and must be able to safely use machinery and tools.
  • Understand and verify quality through the use of gauges, tools, specs, and charts.
  • Employee must understand how to fill out all paperwork for all areas.
  • Must possess computer knowledge sufficient to perform the job.
  • Must be a problem solver with good mechanical ability, and work well as a team.
  • Employee must be able to communicate with the lead, quality tech, or supervisor any issues they may find that affects the performance of the area, or product.
  • Skill level – entry level.


Principal Activities Include:

Work Environment:

Employee may be exposed to wet and humid conditions and Dust/Fumes/Gas and Chemicals. Employee may need to work around extreme heat and moving machinery.

Education/Training Requirement:

This position requires on the job training. A minimum of a high school diploma or GED must be held by employee to qualify for this position.
