We are seeking a Recreational Supervisor to encourage the enthusiastic participation in recreation programs at our residential trade and education center.

Job Summary: Responsible for the supervision of staff and students to ensure a safe and secure operation of activities in the recreation/avocation area.

Duties:

Develops and implement programs to promote productive and socially acceptable use of leisure time.

Conducts periodic surveys to involve students and staff in developing/planning and maintaining a monthly calendar of recreational activities and events, which is posted regularly throughout the center.

Provides adequate staff supervision of events, activities, facilities, and equipment to assure participant safety and proper equipment usage, checkout, and return.

Conducts and documents water safety training and prohibits students from participating in swimming or other water-related activities until the students have received water safety instruction and demonstrated swimming proficiency.

Ensures videos shown are restricted to those licensed under the umbrella license through the national agreement between the Office of Job Corps and the Motion Picture Licensing Corporation.

Submits requisitions for recreational equipment, supplies and materials, ensuring the department operates within its established budget.

Maintains equipment in good order, requesting maintenance and property assistance as needed and ensures good housekeeping throughout the facility in compliance with all safety practices.

Serves as model, mentor, and monitor while promoting professionalism and good customer service, ensuring a pleasant recreational experience for both staff and students.

Participates in staff training and complies with all DOL guidelines, OFCCP regulations, Job Corps notices and bulletins, and Center policies and procedures.

Performs other duties as assigned within the individual’s scope and capabilities.

Experience: One year of supervisory experience required. Minimum 2 years working with youth.


Education: Bachelors’ Degree from an accredited four-year college or university or combination of experience and training.


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid State Drivers’ License.
