Job Title: Clinical Pathology Technologist (Histology/Molecular/Cytology)

Location: Scottsdale, Arizona

Compensation: $65,000-$85,000 - Dependent on Experience

Employment Type: Full Time with Generous Benefits Package

Schedule: On-site Monday thru Friday. 8-hour day shift. No nights, no weekends, and no major holidays.

Overview
Start-up genetics laboratory is seeking a skilled and experienced Technologist to support histology, molecular, cytology, spatial biology and microscopy workflows. This role is essential to high-quality patient sample processing, slide preparation, staining, DNA/RNA extraction and data integrity under strict GLP standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, accession, label, and process patient samples (blood and tissue) with full traceability.
  • Perform tissue processing, embedding, and tissue sectioning (microtomy/cryotomy).
  • Prepare diagnostic-quality slides and conduct routine/special tissue staining
  • Extraction of RNA/DNA in support molecular workflows; NGS experience is a plus.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in LIMS/logs and follow GLP, biosafety, and SOPs.
  • Perform QC checks, equipment maintenance, and assist with continuous improvement activities.
  • Perform routine cleaning, preventative maintenance, and documentation of function checks of laboratory equipment.

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. in Biological Sciences, MLS, MLT, or related discipline (Master’s preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in histology, molecular and/or cytology in a clinical setting.
  • Hands-on expertise in:
  • Tissue sectioning
  • Slide preparation
  • Tissue staining
  • DNA/RNA Extraction
  • Handling human patient specimens (blood and tissue)
  • Strong knowledge of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and quality documentation.

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Molecular Genetics/NGS exposure (library prep, sequencing support, or related workflows).
  • Microscopy and Spatial Biology prep workflow experience.
  • ASCP certification a plus.
