Hojoko is a fun, high-energy izakaya (Japanese Tavern) located in The Verb Hotel in the Fenway Neighborhood of Boston. Hojoko’s kitchen encompasses live fire cooking over traditional Japanese binchotan charcoal, an award-winning burger, all the way to a sushi program that utilizes fish from Japan’s famed Toyosu Fish Market. 


We’re seeking a reliable and hardworking Dishwasher to join our team. As a Dishwasher, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment, ensuring our operations run smoothly. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and being part of a team.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Wash and sanitize all dishes, utensils, cookware, and other kitchen equipment following health and safety standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the dishwashing area, including sweeping and mopping floors, and taking out trash as needed.
  • Organize clean items in their proper storage locations.
  • Ensure dishwashing machines and equipment are cleaned and maintained regularly.
  • Assist kitchen staff with basic tasks, such as stocking supplies or cleaning spills.
  • Monitor supplies of dish soap, detergents, and other cleaning materials, notifying management when restocking is needed.
  • Comply with food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times.
  • Additional duties as required
Requirements:


  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs.), and work in a hot, humid environment.
  • Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to assist as needed.
  • Prior experience in a kitchen or similar environment is a plus but not required.

Schedule & Compensation:

  • Flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
