Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Early Care & Education (ECE) Coach to support and strengthen the quality of early learning environments across our community through evidence-based coaching, technical assistance, and adult learning facilitation.
This role partners with child care providers, teachers, and caregivers to improve instructional practices, ensure alignment with developmentally appropriate standards, and promote continuous quality improvement. The ECE Coach applies deep knowledge of early childhood development, assessment tools, state licensing and quality standards, and adult learning concepts to support measurable improvements in classroom environments and caregiving practices.
The ideal candidate is a reflective practitioner, strong communicator, and systems thinker who can assess needs, design individualized coaching strategies, and guide early care professionals toward sustainable improvements.
Position Responsibilities
- Deliver individualized and group coaching to early childhood educators using evidence-based coaching models and best practice guidelines.
- Conduct classroom observations to assess instructional quality, teacher-child interactions, and learning environments and identify quality improvements.
- Plan and participate in outreach efforts to recruit early care providers in coaching and training opportunities.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with educators, administrators, and community partners to align community needs with program goals.
- Design and facilitate high-quality professional development opportunities for early care professionals.
- Apply adult learning concepts to increase professional development engagement, and enhance the knowledge, instructional practices, and effectiveness of childcare programs.
- Enter assessments, site visit summaries, and other required documentation for program evaluation into the Upfront database.

Requirements:Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood or related field.
- Level 11 or higher Early Educator Certification required.
- At least 3 years of professional experience in early childhood education. Experience in licensed child care settings preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of early childhood assessment tools and licensing standards.
- Strong understanding of adult learning concepts and professional development best practices.
- Experience providing coaching, mentoring, or technical assistance preferred.
- Proficiency in database systems, Microsoft Office, and electronic documentation platforms.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to travel within Cumberland County and surrounding areas to provide on-site coaching and attend meetings or events.
