Journeyman Carpenter – Restoration & Remodel

Reports To: Restoration Division Manager
Position Summary
Fischer Restoration & Rebuild is seeking a highly skilled Journeyman Carpenter to support residential and light commercial restoration and remodeling projects. This role requires an experienced craftsman who can independently perform framing, finish carpentry, structural repairs, and full-scope remodel work while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and professionalism.
This position is production-driven and customer-facing. The Journeyman Carpenter is expected to work efficiently, maintain clean and safe job sites, and represent Fischer with integrity.
Primary Responsibilities
Restoration & Structural Repair
Perform structural repairs related to water, fire, and storm damage.
Repair and replace framing members, subflooring, sheathing, and siding.
Install insulation, drywall, and backing as required.
Interpret mitigation scopes and rebuild accordingly.
Remodel & Finish Carpentry
Install cabinets, trim, base, casing, doors, windows, and hardware.
Perform light framing modifications and layout changes.
Complete drywall repair and finishing to paint-ready condition.
Execute light finish carpentry and detail work with precision.
Jobsite Management
Work independently or lead a small crew as assigned.
Read and interpret blueprints, scopes of work, and building plans.
Communicate material needs proactively.
Maintain a clean, organized, and OSHA-compliant job site.
Ensure all work meets Washington State building code requirements.
Customer & Team Communication
Provide professional communication with homeowners and project managers.
Document progress, photos, and notes per company process.
Collaborate effectively with mitigation, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical teams.
Qualifications
5+ years of carpentry experience (restoration and remodel preferred).
Strong knowledge of residential construction methods.
Ability to perform structural framing and detailed finish work.
Proficient with hand and power tools.
Ability to read plans and execute scope independently.
Valid Washington State driver’s license with clean driving record.
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical jobsite work daily.
Authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred:
Experience working with insurance restoration projects.
Familiarity with ServiceTitan or digital job tracking systems.
Licensing & Compliance
Must comply with all Washington State L&I and OSHA safety regulations.
Adherence to Fischer’s Accident Prevention Program (APP).
Fall protection knowledge required.
Must follow PPE requirements at all times.
Compensation Structure
Competitive hourly wage based on experience and production ability.
Overtime paid in accordance with Washington State law.

Physical Requirements
Frequent standing, kneeling, bending, climbing ladders.
Working in varying weather conditions.
Exposure to construction dust and materials.
Use of ladders and elevated work platforms as required.
