Job Summary:
The Employment Coach is responsible for working with adults with mental health-related issues to assist them in finding and maintaining competitive employment.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Additional duties may be assigned)
- Networking and relationship-building with employers and potential employers around the ADA, job development, job carving, job coaching, and promoting job placement for program participants.
- Accepts referrals and works one-on-one with individuals to assist with their job needs.
- Provides basic assistance in understanding and enrollment in work incentive benefits.
- Works closely with Employment Team members in facilitating groups, coordinating caseload, and organizing employment related functions.
- Assists with building appropriate employment related social skills such as developing appropriate dress habits, boundary setting, communication skills and stress management strategies.
- Collaborates with community resources and makes referrals as necessary.
Education and Experience:
- Associate’s degree required.
- Driver’s License and reliable vehicle required.
- CASE Certification required to be completed within 1 year of hire.
- 1 year experience in employment related services required.
- Knowledge of community employment resources.
- Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to handle a variety of work assignments and to think creatively.
- Capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
- Personal lived experience with mental health is preferred.
- Ability to work with a diverse group of people and groups successfully with sensitivity and respect for diverse cultural backgrounds and practices.
- Excellence in interpersonal and communication skills, including writing and making effective presentations to internal and external management officials.
- Computer proficiency including word processing, data entry, spreadsheets, and generating reports using standard software applications.
- Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
Work Hours:
- The standard work week is 35 hours, Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm. Flexible work hours may be required on occasion.
Salary Information
$21.00 - $23.00
