Job Summary:

The Employment Coach is responsible for working with adults with mental health-related issues to assist them in finding and maintaining competitive employment. 


Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Additional duties may be assigned)

  • Networking and relationship-building with employers and potential employers around the ADA, job development, job carving, job coaching, and promoting job placement for program participants.
  • Accepts referrals and works one-on-one with individuals to assist with their job needs.
  • Provides basic assistance in understanding and enrollment in work incentive benefits.
  • Works closely with Employment Team members in facilitating groups, coordinating caseload, and organizing employment related functions.
  • Assists with building appropriate employment related social skills such as developing appropriate dress habits, boundary setting, communication skills and stress management strategies.
  • Collaborates with community resources and makes referrals as necessary.


Requirements:

 

Education and Experience:

  • Associate’s degree required.
  • Driver’s License and reliable vehicle required.
  • CASE Certification required to be completed within 1 year of hire.
  • 1 year experience in employment related services required.
  • Knowledge of community employment resources.
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to handle a variety of work assignments and to think creatively.
  • Capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
  • Personal lived experience with mental health is preferred.
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people and groups successfully with sensitivity and respect for diverse cultural backgrounds and practices.
  • Excellence in interpersonal and communication skills, including writing and making effective presentations to internal and external management officials.
  • Computer proficiency including word processing, data entry, spreadsheets, and generating reports using standard software applications.
  • Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.

Work Hours:

  • The standard work week is 35 hours, Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm. Flexible work hours may be required on occasion.  





Salary Information

$21.00 - $23.00 Hourly Wage
