POSITION SUMMARY: 

We are currently searching for a Business Manager that oversees and manages all financial and reporting matters of the organization and assists with human resources functions. This position provides direction and leadership for YMCA business operations, assist with the development and implementation of systems and helps in the implementation of policies related to areas of responsibility.

Requirements:


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & JOB DUTIES

  • Monitors monthly financial and marketing operations, prepares analysis and reports, and gives guidance to operating staff. 
  • Works closely with operations staff on issues that affect financial outcome. 
  • Prepares specific recommendations. Ensures that legal and audit requirements are met and that best practices and maximum efficiency are obtained.
  • Oversees the financial and marketing operations such as but not limited to: AR, AP, budgeting, reporting, vendor management, relevant tax filings.
  • Works directly with assigned committee(s) of the board to build volunteer relationships, develop policies, monitor their implementation and meet the related needs of the board.
  • Reviews, updates, and/or develops internal control systems for the YMCA and oversees internal audits which check for compliance on a variety of policies and standards. 
  • Provides recommendations for improvement.?Develops performance indicators and measurement systems for tracking strategic plan objectives. 
  • Evaluates current business models and leads efforts to modify or redesign business models where necessary.
  • Oversees preparation of reports to YMCA of the USA, also other foundations and governmental agencies. Oversees preparation of tax returns and audits with outside accounting firm.
  • Oversees the development of the annual operating budget, including all branch budgets. Works closely with operations staff to ensure that budgets are well-planned, realistic, and prepared in a timely manner.
  • Establishes, maintains and/or monitors all banking and financing relationships.?Maintains all necessary records and accounting reports and records all transactions on a timely basis, including government contracts and grants.
  • Maintains good working relationships with auditors, bankers, investment counselors, attorneys and other professional advisors.
  • Represents the YMCA with key community organizations and events as required.

 JOB QUALIFICATIONS: 


EDUCATION: 

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or accounting preferred. 


KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE: 

  • Two or more years in accounting, budget, grant and financial management, or marketing analysis.
  • Investment management and asset allocation experience preferred.?Experience in non-profit accounting including oversight or preparation of Form 990 preferred.
  • Knowledge of general business matters including budget development, financial analysis and reporting, cash management, business taxes, banking and debt financing instruments.?Knowledge of computer systems, including experience with system selection, new system implementation and project management. 
  • Personal computer skills including alternative operating systems, database and security management, financial/accounting and payroll management software (e.g., Quickbooks, Activenet, Paylocity) required.
  • Must pass CPR/AED/1st Aid certification by an approved provider within 3 months from original date of hire and maintain while employed.

$45000.00 - $60000.00 Annual Salary
