SHIPPING COORDINATOR 

 

JOB FUNCTIONS: 

Assists the group leader in training new employees for the department. Able to perform all functions. Ensures the quantity, quality, correct number of parts and accessories are completed according to parts list. Delivers parts and coordinates workflow.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assists group leader in training new employees for the department.
  • Coordinates work for new employees.
  • Trains new employees in the proper method, use of tools and equipment and safety regulations.
  • Examines work of new employees to give feedback and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Mentor new employees for the first two weeks of employment.
  • Inspects workstations to ensure new employees have adequate materials.
  • Gives group leader feedback on the training progress of new employees.
  • Helps coordinate workflow between assembly and shipping for parts to be shipped, and replacement of defective parts or missing parts and accessories.
  • Performs majority of functions in the area.
  • Check’s part list and verifies quantity, quality and correct number of parts and accessories are completed according to specifications.
  • Assists group leader in meeting department objectives.
  • Notifies group leader, supervisor, or any other management associate of any safety issue.
  • Informs appropriate department, group leader or management associate of any product shortages, defects, delays, or any other problem affecting shipments to customers.

 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area. 
  • Other duties as assigned by management. Even though Coordinator may be your main responsibility, Teak Isle will require cross training in other positions, including Sanding, Polishing, Assembly, Packing, Finisher Router, CNC Operator, etc. Duties and responsibilities may change at any time with or without notice depending on the needs of the business.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • The employee is regularly required to bend at the waist and knees and stand for extended periods of time.
  • The employee must frequently be able to lift 50 pounds, work 10 hours days with most of the time being on your feet, and work overtime, whether planned or unplanned.
  • Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment where ambient air temperature can exceed outside air temperatures reaching over 100 degrees Fahrenheit at times.
  • Must be able to work under time constraints and deadlines.
  • Must be able to work in a dusty environment.
  • Must be able to read measurements in inches. 
  • Must be able to read and write English.
  • A certain amount of confidentiality and independent judgement is necessary.

MONDAY- FRIDAY
7AM-3:30PM (OT REQUIRED BASED ON BUISNESS NEEDS)

Salary Information

$15.0 - $16.0 Hourly Wage
