Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate CNA's to join our blended-care healthcare team, which consists of RNs, LPNs, and Nurse Externs. The ideal candidate will be committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to a diverse patient population in our fast-paced surgical unit.
First Surgical is a 27-bed general surgical unit that cares for a variety of specialty surgical patients, as well as medical patients and those requiring wound care.
Responsibilities

Assist patients with activities of daily living ( ADLs). including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and feeding.
Help patients with mobility by aiding with walking, turning, repositioning, and transferring between beds, chairs, and wheelchairs.
Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure, and report any abnormalities to the nurse.
Support nursing staff in providing basic medical care, such as changing wound dressings and assisting with medical equipment.
Observe patients for changes in condition or behavior and report any concerns promptly to the nursing staff.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all care provided in accordance with facility policies.
Assist with the admission, transfer, and discharge of patients as directed.
Help maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Uphold patient rights, privacy, and confidentiality at all times.
Work collaboratively with nurses, doctors, therapist, and other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Comply with infection control protocols and all relevant health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED Required
Current Nursing Assistant Level I certification
AHA CPR Required
Previous experience in a healthcare setting is an asset but not required; new graduates are encouraged to apply
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
Strong organizational and time management skills
Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, and move patients as necessary
Demonstrated compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to help others
