Job Description: Manage the Getlabels Product Portfolio and other QuickLabel and TrojanLabel branded printing supplies, including pressure sensitive labels, inkjet inks, thermal transfer ribbons and toners and other replacement consumables. Perform qualification testing of new ink sets, new label, and thermal transfer ribbon raw materials for suitability. Report on the compatibility and performance of tested materials, including returned finished goods from customers when analytical testing is required. Collaborate with R&D and Manufacturing to develop new products. Work with Quality Assurance to verify and test media products and evaluate customer returns. Investigate customer-reported issues relating to the use of media products. Provide technical assistance to other internal departments in supporting our customer base. Assist Product Marketing with the development of content used to publish catalogs, charts and specification sheets. Create media profiles and manage the profile library. Perform Taber abrasion tests, water and moisture resistance, chemical resistance, UV fade tests, adhesion tests, and other required tests in qualifying raw materials. Assist Engineering, Product Management, and Sales Team in evaluating new products and applications.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field and two years of experience product development/product management in a Materials Research Lab.
Experience must include two years with each of the following: conducting material performance tests, including Taber abrasion, water and moisture resistance, chemical resistance, UV fade, and adhesion tests; evaluating material properties and behaviors to provide insights, improve performance, and resolve issues; and managing product development lifecycle, including concept development, testing, and production. Experience must include one year with each of the following: creating Standard of Operating Procedures (SOPs) and technical reports; working with testing standards including ASTM International Designation D3330/D3330M-04 Method F, ASTM International Designation F1478-95, ASTM International Designation F2250-03, and AATCC Test Method 16-2004. Experience may be gained concurrently.
