SUMMARY:
The Process Technician plays a crucial role in the manufacturing industry by ensuring that production processes run smoothly and efficiently. This position involves monitoring and optimizing the use of material handling equipment to facilitate the timely movement of goods. The technician will be responsible for order picking, shipping, and receiving, which are essential for maintaining inventory accuracy and meeting customer demands. Additionally, the role requires adherence to safety protocols while operating equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks. Ultimately, the Process Technician contributes to the overall productivity and quality of the manufacturing process, ensuring that products are assembled and delivered on time.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set up, operate, and adjust production equipment to meet specifications.
- Monitor process parameters and make adjustments to optimize efficiency.
- Conduct equipment inspections and troubleshoot minor issues.
- Document process changes and maintain accurate production records.
- Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams for process improvements.
- Adhere to safety regulations (OSHA and state-specific standards) and company policies.
- Train operators on process changes and best practices as needed.
- Perform netting duties, including preparing, handling, and securing netting materials in accordance with production requirements and safety protocols.
- Ensure quality standards are met when assembling or applying netting to products or materials.
- Communicate any issues or delays relating to netting operations to supervisor promptly.
- Perform other related duties assigned to support department and company objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or processing environment.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
- Frequent bending, lifting, and repetitive hand movements.
- Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. regularly.
- Exposure to noise, dust, and temperature fluctuations typical of a production floor.
- Work is performed on a production floor.
- Use of PPE is required (e.g., gloves, safety glasses).
- Must adhere to OSHA or Cal/OSHA safety standards and company policies.
