Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert counsel on food law regulatory compliance, including FDA regulations and requirements
- Support transactional matters, including due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships in the food and life sciences sectors
- Draft and review legal documents, including regulatory submissions, contracts, and compliance policies
- Advise clients on U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) requirements
- Conduct in-depth legal research to support regulatory strategies and transactional outcomes
- Represent clients in regulatory proceedings and negotiations with federal agencies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver comprehensive client solutions
- Maintain proactive and professional communication with clients and stakeholders
Qualifications
Required:
- J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials
- Minimum of 6 years of food law experience, including regulatory compliance, transactional support, and due diligence
- Experience working with or at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
- Strong communication, analytical, and drafting skills
- Stable employment history with a demonstrated commitment to excellence
Preferred:
- Familiarity with U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) requirements
- Experience advising food or life sciences clients on complex transactions
- Background in regulatory proceedings or interactions with federal agencies
Salary & Benefits
- Base Salary: $300,000 – $600,000 (based on experience and background)
- Bonus: Performance-based annual bonus eligibility
- Work Setup: Hybrid (combination of in-office and remote work)
