Loch Harbour Group, Inc. is seeking experienced Data Scientist II professionals to perform advanced analytics, predictive modeling, and data integration in support of financial, business, and inventory management operations within a federal program environment.


This role requires strong statistical expertise, hands-on data engineering capability, and experience building scalable analytics solutions. The selected candidate will translate complex operational data into actionable insights that support leadership decision-making, audit readiness, and process optimization.


This position requires full-time onsite support in San Diego, CA and an active Secret clearance at time of hire.


Key responsibilities:

  •  Perform advanced analysis of financial, business, and inventory data to identify trends, anomalies, and performance drivers
  • Cleanse, transform, and integrate data from multiple enterprise systems to ensure integrity and usability
  • Develop predictive models and forecasting analyses to support financial planning, inventory risk assessment, and operational decision-making
  • Design and build dashboards and executive-level visualizations using Python, R, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, and Excel
  • Research and resolve data discrepancies, exception reports, and cross-system inconsistencies
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define analytical requirements and develop scalable data architectures
  • Conduct operations research and apply statistical methodologies to improve financial and asset management processes
  • Support accountable property and inventory analytics through development of data-driven insights
  • Develop documentation of methodologies, assumptions, models, and outputs in accordance with government standards
  • Present analytical findings to audiences ranging from operational teams to executive leadership


Requirements:

Education Requirements

 Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related discipline 


Experience Requirements

  •  Minimum 3 years of professional experience in data science, analytics, or advanced statistical analysis 


Required Technical Skills

  • Experience with software integration or testing, including analyzing and implementing test plans and scripts.
  • Experience with frequent scripting language use, such as Python and R and using packages commonly used in data science applications or advanced analytics 
  • Experience with data science, data mining, statistics, or graph algorithms to support analytics objectives. 
  • Experience applying Structured Query Language (SQL), Non Structured Query Language (NoSQL), Application Program Interface (API) Building, Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) pipelines, Web Application Servers, or Search Index. 
  • Experience using programming languages and products such as Python, Jupyter Notebook, Pandas, Numpy, Requests, or Antigravity. 
  • Experience applying complex mathematical and statistical concepts. 
  • Experience applying statistical and operations research methods and tools. 
  • Experience employing spreadsheets for data manipulation and visualization. 

Relevant industry certification such as required:
