We are seeking a proactive, results-driven Assistant Plant Manager to help oversee day-to-day production operations. This role demands a confident leader capable of making real-time decisions, solving problems quickly, and guiding production teams to meet strict deadlines without compromising quality or safety.
This is a Tuesday - Saturday shift, 9:00am - 5:30pm, with Sunday or Monday as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise people, processes, and machines to meet daily and weekly output goals.
- Prioritize tasks, allocate resources, and adjust workflows dynamically based on real-time conditions.
- Address operational challenges and employee issues decisively and constructively.
- Conduct coaching, performance reviews, and corrective actions to support employee development.
- Enforce and maintain safety, quality, and operational standards on the production floor.
- Operate a forklift or ensure the safe and efficient operation of forklift trucks for material handling, inventory movement, and shipping/receiving needs.
- Maintain forklift safety compliance and assist in training or certifying team members as needed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including shipping, customer service, and prepress.
- Utilize ERP systems for job tracking, inventory control, and performance monitoring.
- Lead equipment and safety training sessions to maintain a skilled and prepared workforce.

Requirements
- 2+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing, industrial, or print production.
- Background in bindery or printing is highly preferred.
- Certified forklift operator or ability to obtain certification; experience operating or supervising forklift use required.
- Strong leadership with a proven ability to make quick, effective decisions under pressure.
- Excellent problem-solving, conflict resolution, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office; ERP system experience preferred).
- Highly organized, adaptable, and able to manage competing priorities.
- High school diploma or GED required, associate or technical degree a plus.
Working Conditions:
- Industrial/production floor environment with exposure to print and bindery equipment.
- Must be able to stand and be on your feet for up to 8 hours per shift.
- Frequent bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs.), and physical movement required throughout the shift.
- Regular interaction with warehouse equipment, including forklifts.
