Description:
- Responsible for serving assigned tables in a prompt, effective and courteous manner.
- Notes resident concerns, likes and dislikes, and reports same to Dining Services Director, so that these can be integrated into the plan for each resident.
- Handles food and utensils in a safe and sanitary manner.
- Maintains the workstation in a clean and orderly fashion.
- Observes residents during meal times to assist Nutritionist by furnishing meal time behaviors such as eating habits, interaction with staff and residents, concerns, etc.
- Assures that Diet Orders are followed at all times, by following appropriate procedures for meal service. Bring errors to the attention of the Dining Services Director.
- Shows a personal interest in each resident, by becoming familiar, using active listening, and demonstrating an awareness of their likes and dislikes.
- Presents the food in a professional manner, never reaching across the resident, but always presenting the plates from the side in a restaurant manner.
- Maintains a calm and composed disposition at all times, so that the residents are not aware of staffing shortages or other stresses behind the scenes.
- Observes for unsafe or unsanitary conditions in the work area, and report potential hazards to the Dining Services Director or Cook on duty.
- Plates foods in the proper portions, in an appetizing way.
- Handles all equipment in a safe manner, to prevent injury or damage.
- Maintains a harmonious relationship with all employees of the organization.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- 3-6 months experience preferred
