Position Reports to: Facilities Operations Manager 

FLSA: Full-time, hourly non-exempt, benefits eligible 


MISSION: (The essence of the job) 

The property maintenance technician will address common maintenance issues across assigned properties, perform scheduled repairs and installations, and respond to unexpected, corrective maintenance issues, landscaping and snow removal needs as they arise. 


 OUTCOMES: (What must get done and how will we measure success):

  • Complete basic to moderate repairs and assist in the general maintenance of assigned properties, and maintenance of physical company assets (tools, appliances, equipment, etc.) 
  • Groundskeeping; maintaining lawns, planters, and other outdoor landscaped areas in need of maintenance, may include snow removal 
  • Perform regular inspections to prevent equipment failure, and properly operate and maintain tools and equipment to ensure safety and efficiency
  • Troubleshoot issues that arise and recommend corrective action
  • Assist in ordering tools and cleaning supplies and other items as needed
  • Assist in the organization of the common dock and storage areas, working with tenants to keep space clear and organized 
  • Frequently operate property vehicles 
  • Ensure accurate recording of work through various software for historical and cost reporting purposes
  • Serve as a point of contact for tenants, staff, and vendors, as needed or directed by Facilities Operations Manager 
  • Assist in facilities projects such as fire safety management
  • Help coordinate logistics, set up and tear down, for special events and projects as needed
Requirements:

JOB SKILLS:

  • Clean driving record required
  • Basic knowledge of hand and power tools and basic repairs required
  • Communication and interpersonal skills required to effectively share information with clients, tenants and staff
  • Basic computing skills required, ability to us email, excel and Microsoft word or similar software required
  • Knowledge of light plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, etc. is a plus 
  • Experience with commercial buildings and/ or live events is a plus 
  • Forklift, CPR, First- Aid certification is a plus

PHYSICAL CONSIDERATIONS:

  • Frequent moving and lifting equipment and boxes up to 50 lbs. 
  • Frequent walking throughout campus but may remain stationary for long periods of time
  • Frequent use of manual dexterity to type, access files, and handle supplies
  • Occasional exposure to loud music, fog, or lasers


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach with hands and arms, climb ladders, crawling in/through low spaces. Tasks include the need for hand finger dexterity, clear speech, hearing, listening, reading and writing, lifting and moving furniture and related equipment, sometimes heavy equipment.
