Sensity has an exciting opportunity for a Facilities Coordinator Summer Student to join our team in Paris, ON.


This position is responsible for supporting the cleanliness and maintenance of Sensity-owned and rented buildings, equipment and property in accordance with all applicable legislation. This position provides assistance in the general housekeeping, janitorial and supports the Facilities Coordinator and Housekeeping and Maintenance Coordinator with preventative maintenance services to ensure all buildings and equipment are kept in good working order, providing a safe working and living environment for employees and individuals supported.


Shifts Available:

  • Student Contract Duration: May 4th, 2026 - August 28th, 2026
  • 40 hours per week

Key Activities:

  • Performs and supports housekeeping, cleaning, janitorial tasks and activities to ensure that all Sensity properties are maintained in a clean and safe manner at all times.
  • Maintains floor surfaces by performing tasks such as sweeping, mopping, burnishing, and vacuuming.
  • Sanitizes and disinfects all contact surfaces within washrooms, lunchrooms, boardroom, and all common areas.
  • Support the Facilities Coordinator with general repairs as directed and maintenance work schedules as needed.
  • Refinishes floors by performing tasks such as stripping, neutralizing, sealing, and reapplying new finish.
  • Removes trash and other waste from the interior and exterior of the Resource Center including offices, lunchroom, boardroom and residential buildings.
  • Moves furniture to facilitate cleaning.
  • Replenishes establishments with supplies such as paper towel, toilet paper, soap and garbage bags.
  • Advise management immediately of any concerns with the health and safety of Sensity owned and operated buildings, properties and equipment including any damages that may have occurred.
  • Performs light administrative tasks as required, including basic computer work, data entry related to maintenance activities.
  • Performs other duties, as required.


Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS), Ontario Fire Code, etc.
  • Comfortable using MS Office 365, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work independently, and follow specific instructions.
  • Adaptable and flexible with an ability to respond to changing work priorities, high volume requests, pressures and demands.
  • Deal professionally and tactfully with clients/staff/contractors.


Additional Requirements:

  • Employment is conditional upon receipt of a successful Criminal Record Police Check. .
  • This position requires repetitive hand motion and good manual dexterity and moderate stooping, bending and lifting. The incumbent must be able to lift 35 lbs to 50 lbs on an occasional basis. The position will be required to work indoors and outdoors.
  • French may be considered an asset
  • Excellent communication skills for both verbally and written of the English language.
