Position Overview
The People Operations Manager is the company’s primary HR leader, responsible for managing the full employee lifecycle across multiple branch locations. This role blends strategic partnership with hands-on execution to support talent acquisition, employee relations, compliance, benefits, and workforce planning.
This position partners closely with leadership to align people strategy with business goals while fostering a compliant, engaged, and high-performing workplace.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
- Lead full-cycle recruitment across multiple locations
- Partner with managers on hiring strategy and workforce planning
- Develop sourcing pipelines and strengthen employer branding
- Design and improve onboarding programs
Employee Relations & Leadership Support
- Serve as trusted advisor to managers on employee matters
- Conduct workplace investigations and resolve complex issues
- Guide performance management and corrective action processes
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
- Maintain HR policies, handbooks, and procedures
- Manage leave administration, accommodations, and return-to-work processes
- Oversee HR audits and reporting requirements
Benefits & Total Rewards
- Administer health, dental, vision, retirement, and related benefits
- Partner with brokers on renewals and plan improvements
- Support compensation benchmarking and planning initiatives
HR Systems & Operations
- Manage HRIS (Paylocity) data integrity and reporting
- Maintain employee records and documentation standards
- Implement process improvements to increase efficiency
Culture & Engagement
- Lead employee engagement initiatives and training programs
- Support leadership development efforts
- Champion diversity, inclusion, and workplace culture initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience
- Experience supporting multiple locations preferred
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
- Experience managing full employee lifecycle processes
- Ability to coach leaders and handle sensitive employee matters
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office
- High level of discretion and confidentiality
Additional Requirements
- Background check required
- Ability to travel occasionally to branch locations in Iowa and South Dakota
- Ability to respond to urgent employee matters when needed
