Front Desk Receptionist

The Front Desk Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients visiting our Otolaryngology practice. This role is essential in creating a welcoming, professional, and efficient patient experience. The ideal candidate is personable, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced specialty medical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and check in patients in a friendly, professional manner
   
• Answer incoming phone calls, route calls appropriately, and assist with general inquiries
   
• Verify patient demographics, insurance information, referrals, and authorizations at check-in
   
• Collect co-pays, outstanding balances, and post payments accurately
   
• Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments as needed
   
• Scan, upload, and maintain patient documentation within the EMR system
   
• Ensure patient forms, consents, and registration paperwork are completed and accurate
   
• Communicate effectively with clinical staff and providers regarding patient flow and needs
   
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front desk and waiting area
   
• Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times

• High school diploma or equivalent required
   
• Minimum of 1 year of front desk or medical receptionist experience preferred
   
• Experience in a specialty practice (ENT, surgical, or multi-provider) preferred
   
• Familiarity with EMR systems and basic medical office workflows
   
• Knowledge of insurance verification, referrals, and co-pay collection
   
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
   
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
   
• Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment
