Hotel Equities, a multi-award-winning hotel development and hospitality management company, is currently searching for a remarkable Laundry Attendant (Utility/Custodial) for the Hilton Harrisburg in Harrisburg, PA.
Job Purpose:
Maintain a constant supply of clean linens for the hotel.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

70 % Perform all stages of linen processing (i.e., sorting and weighing soiled and unsoiled linen, loading and unloading washers and dryers, folding and storing linen, recording poundage produced and weighing incoming and outgoing laundry.)
10 % Assist in laundry inventories.
10 % Clean laundry area. Set up house attendant amenities for pick up.
5% Assist with the upkeep of basement hallway and staff elevator.
5% Clean laundry machinery.
SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.
- Keep work area neat and organized
- Report all mechanical problems and hazardous conditions to supervisor, manager or Security Department

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability arrive to work on time and when scheduled.
- Ability to stand on feet up to 7 hours a day and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to operate washer and dryer equipment.
- Physically able to move / lift, large, heavy objects such as: linen, linen carts and/or bags of linen
- Physically able to operate cleaning equipment such as: brooms, spray bottles
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members verbally or in written form, over the phone or in person.
- Ability to learn, follow and enforce standards for cleanliness as they apply to the laundry area.
- Ability to follow all safety procedures/standards and able to recognize and act in emergency situations.

All team members must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (specific standards available).

NOTICE:
The hospitality business functions seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day. In addition, this is a hospitality business and a hospitable service atmosphere must be projected at all times.
