A Day in the Life (Summary):
Barbacks at Country Club of Detroit work under guidance from the Executive Bartenders. Barbacks help to stock liquors, refill garnishes, polish glasses, haul kegs, bring glassware from dishwasher to stock area, and provide an overall cleanly and stock bar area. Barbacks usually have a willingness to learn and potentially grow into bartender roles. Our seasonal barbacks can start as early as April 15th and can work potentially through September 30th, depending on the season.
Essential Job Duties:
- Polishing and carrying racks of glassware
- Stocking and replenishing bar inventory and supplies (i.e. beer, wine, kegs, liquor, fruit, soda cans, etc.) in all beverage areas including Clubhouse, Golf Course, Summer Village, etc.
- Maintaining a clean and organized bar area and stock area
- Refilling ice wells, napkins, straws, etc.
- Coordinating with bartenders to ensure efficient service to Members
- Clean up spills, broken glasses and clear drains
- Setting up and breaking down banquet bars
Minimum Skills & Qualifications:
- Impeccable customer service and team player demeanor
- Accountability in maintaining and stocking inventory
- Physical ability to stand or walk for long periods of time
- Physical ability to lift kegs and other heavy stock items (beer, wine, etc.)
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks based on urgency
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Working Conditions:
- Frequent walking throughout premises
- Standing for prolonged periods of time
- Bending, Stooping and lifting regularly
- Fast-paced environment with exposure to loud music/noises and alcohol
- Ability to lift 40 pounds on occasion
