Position Overview
The Finance Director will serve as the senior financial leader responsible for overseeing all financial planning, analysis, accounting, controls, and reporting activities while acting as a trusted strategic partner to executive leadership. This role will drive financial discipline, operational insight, and scalable processes to support profitable growth, capital efficiency, and long-term enterprise value creation.
The ideal candidate brings strong manufacturing finance expertise, including cost accounting, inventory management, capital investment analysis, and working capital optimization, along with the leadership capability to build and develop a high-performing finance team. Beyond technical excellence, the Finance Director will contribute to enterprise-wide decision-making, support mergers and acquisitions, and help shape the company’s strategic direction.
Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Strategy
- Serve as a strategic partner to the executive team, providing financial insights to support business decisions.
- Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with company growth, margin improvement, and capital allocation objectives.
- Prepare and present financial results, forecasts, and strategic analyses to executive leadership and ownership.
- Support mergers, acquisitions, and integration activities, including financial due diligence, valuation analysis, and post-acquisition financial integration
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning processes.
- Analyze variances, cost drivers, and operational performance to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Develop KPIs and dashboards to support data-driven decision-making.
Manufacturing Finance & Operations Support
- Oversee cost accounting, inventory valuation, and costing processes.
- Partner with operations and supply chain leadership to improve manufacturing efficiency and cost controls.
- Evaluate capital investments and ROI.
Accounting, Controls & Compliance
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Maintain strong internal controls and GAAP compliance.
- Oversee audit, tax, and external advisor relationships.
- Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and financing activities.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and develop the finance and accounting team.
- Build scalable processes and systems to support growth.
Systems & Process Improvement
- Drive improvements in ERP, financial systems, and reporting tools.
- Standardize and streamline finance processes to enhance efficiency and scalability.
- Support integration efforts related to acquisitions or business expansions, as applicable.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- 7–10+ years of progressive finance experience, preferably in manufacturing.
- CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, analytical and strategic thinking skills.
