About the Position:

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) supports specialty clinic operations by assisting with patient care, clinical coordination, and administrative tasks. This role involves direct patient interaction, technical clinical support, and accurate documentation. The position requires effective communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. The ideal candidate is flexible, patient-focused, and committed to providing high quality care and service.

What we are looking for:

Education and Experience:

  • Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or
  • Current Minnesota licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
  • Three to six months of related experience and/or training. 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or
  • Current Minnesota licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Podiatry: 

  • Cleans and prepares podiatric wounds using appropriate aseptic techniques to support healing and reduce infection risk.
  • Applies dressings, including specialized podiatry dressings, ensuring proper protection, pressure management, and secure placement.
  • Applies wraps, splints, and other offloading or supportive devices per provider direction, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Assists providers with podiatry procedures by preparing the exam room, setting up necessary instruments and supplies, and maintaining sterile or clean technique as appropriate.
  • Stocks and maintains podiatry supplies, ensuring exam rooms and procedure areas are adequately equipped and restocked according to established standards.
  • Prepares podiatry procedure trays and ensures proper cleaning, turnover, and readiness of equipment and instruments.
  • Demonstrates basic knowledge of foot and ankle anatomy, common podiatric conditions, and evidencebased principles of foot care.

Riverwood Healthcare Center is a 25-bed Critical Access hospital with three full-service clinics in Aitkin, McGregor, and Garrison. Riverwood has recently expanded its footprint in Aitkin with a state-of-the-art surgical center.

M-F: 7:30 AM- 4:00 PM
FTE: 1.0 (80 hours PPP) or flexibility for a 0.9 (72 hours PPP).

Salary Information

$21.55 - $26.44 Hourly Wage
