CAPTAIN – LARGE VESSEL
Location: Coastal Maine
Rotation: Rotational schedule 2 week on/off
The Role: New DHC is seeking an experienced Vessel Captain to lead safe, efficient, and professional vessel operations along the coast of Maine. This role requires sound judgment, strong leadership, and a practical, hands-on approach to managing vessel operations and crew performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Exercise command of the vessel and ensure safe navigation and operations
- Lead, supervise, and manage vessel crew
- Ensure company policies, safety procedures, and operational standards are followed
- Maintain vessel logs, reports, and operational records
- Coordinate voyage planning, daily operations, and maintenance activities
- Serve as the primary onboard representative of the company
Qualifications
- Master, Near Coastal (500 GT)
- Valid FCC radio operator license
- Valid USCG medical certificate
- Valid TWIC
- Valid passport with the ability to travel internationally
- Minimum five (5) years of relevant vessel operating experience
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
