IR Sedation Nurse
The IR Sedation Nurse is responsible for the assessment of patients including the development, evaluation, and modification of the plan of care for patients receiving moderate sedation for surgical procedures.
The Registered Nurse is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for the comfort and safety of patients for a designated time frame.
Responsibilities:
  • Prepares patients and procedure rooms for radiology procedures, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations
  • Explains procedures to patients, addressing concerns, and ensuring patient confidentiality (HIPAA)
  • Supports and drives quality patient care by implementing facility-specific action plans and goals
  • Performs tasks with considerable judgment, providing assistance to team members and offering solutions
  • Ensures medical records are accurate, complete, and compliant with regulations, performing regular audits
  • Maintains the cleanliness and safety of the facility, inspecting equipment, recommending repairs, and managing supplies efficiently
  • Assists with hazardous waste disposal and upholds environmental standards
  • Attends meetings, collaborates with physicians, and addresses their concerns
  • Participates in the development of radiography policies and supports regulatory surveys
  • Administers moderate sedation during procedure
  • Conducts pre-op and follow-up calls


  • Skills:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven experience with monitoring and maintaining inventory
  • Proven working experience with moderate sedation
  • Proficient in the use of computers and related software such as Microsoft Office and EMR systems
  • Strong IV insertion skills


  • Qualifications

    Qualifications


  • Degree: Must have a degree from an accredited nursing program.

  • Licensure: Must hold a current RN License in the state of Virginia.

  • BLS certification, ACLS certification (Or willingness to obtain)

  • Experience: 1–2 years of nursing experience is required.
