Summary: 

Capable of performing all tasks and duties associated with manual and honing (superfinishing) machines and processes. This includes machine set up, operation, and maintenance. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Ø Measuring and dimensioning with highly accurate instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gages, depth gages, etc.

Ø Proper machine set up, selection, and use of grinding wheels.

Ø Accurate removal of excess coating within specified tolerances minimizing taper, chatter, or defects.

Ø When required, hone product per procedure to required finish.

Ø Accurately inspect product to determine if process is complete.

Ø Complete part router paperwork, and move part to next department.

Ø Daily, routine, and preventive maintenance of all tools and equipment.

Ø Document all NCMR issues and inform the quality department.

Ø Follow all safety rules and policies as outlined in the Safety Manual.

Ø Regularly complete all housekeeping tasks in work area.

Ø Any other duties or responsibilities determined by the manager.

Additional Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Certifications, and Licenses:

• Strong basic mathematics skills and      ability to understand dimensionality.
• Good oral communication skills.
• Experience with overhead and jib      crane preferred.
• Experience in driving gas or      electric forklifts is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Must have the physical attributes to perform job duties unaided or with the assistance of a reasonable accommodation.  

Willing to work overtime when requested by management.
