Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Center Technician with a strong focus on structured cabling and cable pulling within mission-critical environments. This role is responsible for installing, routing, dressing, labeling, and testing copper and fiber optic cabling in a data center environment while maintaining strict adherence to safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pull, route, and secure copper (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A) and fiber optic cables (single-mode and multi-mode) in overhead trays, under raised floors, and through conduits

  • Install and terminate structured cabling systems, including patch panels, keystone jacks, and fiber enclosures

  • Perform cable dressing, bundling, and Velcro management according to data center standards

  • Label cables according to TIA/EIA and company labeling standards

  • Test and troubleshoot copper and fiber cabling using certification testers and OTDR equipment

  • Install cable tray systems, ladder racks, J-hooks, and support structures

  • Maintain accurate documentation, cable maps, and as-built drawings

  • Work within active data center environments without disrupting live equipment

  • Follow all safety procedures including proper lifting techniques and PPE requirements

  • Coordinate with network engineers, facilities teams, and project managers

Required Qualifications

  • 1–3+ years of experience in structured cabling or data center environments

  • Experience pulling and dressing large cable bundles in commercial or data center settings

  • Knowledge of copper and fiber standards (TIA/EIA, BICSI preferred)

  • Ability to read blueprints, rack elevations, and cable schedules

  • Comfortable working at heights (ladders/lifts) and in confined spaces

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive physical tasks

  • Strong attention to detail and organization
