Role Summary
Kings River Packing is seeking a Quality Assurance (QA) Technician to support our operations and quality department at our East Coast packinghouse in Vineland, NJ. This role serves as an extension of our headquarters in Sanger, CA, acting as a liaison between the packhouse and company leadership. The QA Technician supports the quality program by conducting in-line inspections, maintaining grade standards, and ensuring citrus products meet customer specifications and company expectations. This position requires strong attention to detail, clear communication, and the ability to collaborate closely with Operations, Sales, and the QA Manager to maintain consistent product quality. During peak season (May–December), the role requires a 6-day workweek and overtime as needed.
About the Role:
- Serve as the onsite QA representative, building strong working relationships with packinghouse staff.
- Perform detailed inspections of packed citrus, including in-line bags and juice during production.
- Maintain grade standards under guidance from the QA Specialist, adjusting based on customer requirements and fruit condition.
- Identify, document, and communicate quality-related issues promptly.
- Provide daily quality updates to Sales and ownership.
- Gather and relay field quality information to the Sales team.
- Coordinate sample carton requests with the packinghouse.
- Support the import quality control program in partnership with each packinghouse.
- Track and report pallet-level quality issues.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support smooth operations.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
- High School diploma required, bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word; Famous Software experience highly preferred.
- Strong organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain positive working relationships with peers and packinghouse teams.
- Dependable, punctual, and self-motivated with a team-focused approach.
Physical Demands & Abilities
- Ability to sit for extended periods and work at a computer or communicate by phone.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Onsite Monday–Friday schedule with flexibility to work weekends and evenings as needed, especially during peak season.
Compensation & Benefits
- $25.00 - $30.00/hour, based on experience
