Summary:


The VP, Commercial Underwriting is responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of commercial banking relationships, ensuring strong credit quality, profitability and customer satisfaction. This role supports commercial bankers/relationship managers by conducting financial analysis, underwriting, credit requests, monitoring loan performance and identifying opportunities for portfolio expansion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a diverse commercial loan portfolio, ensuring quality, compliance and profitability.
  • Conduct financial analysis on borrowers, assess risks, and prepare credit memos for approval.
  • Monitor loan performance, identify potential risks, and implement proactive measures to minimize credit losses.
  • Assist in managing client relationships, providing financial insights, and responding to client needs.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, economic conditions, and regulatory changes affecting the portfolio.
  • Work closely with relationship managers, credit officers, and leadership to optimize portfolio growth and stability.

 

Required Skills:

  • Strong understanding of financial statements, cash flow analysis and credit underwriting principles.
  • Knowledge of banking regulations, loan structuring and risk assessment.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and additional banking systems.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 3 years experience in commercial lending, credit analysis or portfolio management within banking.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at one time.
  • May need to sit for long periods of time while working on a computer.

 


Salary Information

$135000.0 - $145000.0 Annual Salary
