POSITION: Site Project Supervisor 

LOCATION: Within the U.S.

STATUS: Hourly Non-Exempt 

 

JOB SUMMARY 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Providing leadership for PSM and customer site specific safety policies and objectives 
  • Scheduling and managing field labor activities on gas turbine
  • Assisting the engineers with the inspection activities for condition assessment, suitability of application, and remaining life utilizing PSM provided documentation
  • Responsibility for ensuring all documentation is filled out correctly, completely, and per the PSM criteria
  • Assisting in the development of outage and standard documentation
  • Ensure employee costs are allocated properly via time reporting principles
  • Assisting with the development and management of outage tooling
  • Management of field tooling during outages to minimize refurbishment and ensure security; including assuming responsibility of tooling inventory at outage completion
  • Ensure correct inventory of consumables and miscellaneous hardware kits
  • Providing leadership for PSM and customer site specific quality policies and objectives 
  • Training of supervision, technicians and seasonal/contract labor per PSM requirements
  • Coordination and management of various site resources including but not limited to including generator & steam turbine resources), technicians and labor contractors
  • Providing feedback to field engineers regarding parts condition and field fit-up issues
  • Support additional day to day field service activities as required

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education & Training

  • High School Diploma, trade school, or combination of education and experience 
  • Must complete EHS assigned regulatory training for work area as described by PSM’s EHS Training Matrix


 
Skills/Experience

  • Must live and be authorized to work in the U.S. 
  • 3+ years of experience in Project Supervisor role or equivalent role and/or 10 years experience in power industry or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience on F class Gas Turbines preferred
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Ability to travel 75-80% and work multiple shifts
  • Hands-on, mechanical aptitude required
  • Team oriented; Multicultural sensitivity 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills


Physical Requirements

  • Climbing: Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.
  • Balancing: Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling and walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces.
  • Stooping/Crouching: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
  • Kneeling: Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees
  • Crawling: Moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet
  • Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction
  • Standing: Particularly for sustained periods of time
  • Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
  • Pushing & Pulling
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs. Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position
  • Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm
  • Repetitive motion: Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
  • Close visual acuity required to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes
  • Subject to environmental conditions as work activities occur inside and outside
  • Subject to noise: There is sufficient noise involved which can require shouting in order to be heard above ambient noise level
  • Subject to hazards: Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
  • Frequent close quarters, crawl spaces, and other areas that could cause claustrophobia. The worker is required to function in narrow aisles or passageways
  • Being able to wear required PPEs for specific tasks performed, such as respirators, Tyvek suit, gloves, face shield, etc. 
  • Requires travel (air & ground) with short notice
