Position Summary
We are seeking a highly technical Field Services Manager with experience in electrical power systems testing and commissioning — ideally from a professional testing environment such as a NETA-style organization.
This is primarily an office-based leadership role focused on managing and developing field technicians while providing senior technical guidance for commissioning, troubleshooting, and protection-related issues. The role serves as the technical authority for the field organization, supporting technicians remotely and traveling selectively to customer sites when high-level technical support is required. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with leadership capability and a structured, proactive approach to field execution.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
- Serve as technical escalation point for complex field issues involving switchgear, controls, protection systems, and power distribution equipment.
- Provide guidance on commissioning, troubleshooting, and system performance.
- Review field reports, test documentation, and technical findings for accuracy and quality.
Field Team Management
- Lead and mentor field service technicians.
- Establish technical expectations, accountability, and documentation standards.
- Support technician development in troubleshooting methodology and customer interaction.
Commissioning & Testing Oversight
- Ensure consistent testing and commissioning practices aligned with industry’s best practices.
- Support review and execution of commissioning plans, relay testing, and control verification.
- Drive consistent technical execution across all field activities.
Customer Technical Support
- Act as senior technical interface during complex commissioning and troubleshooting activities.
- Support customer issue resolution and build long-term technical confidence.
Continuous Improvement
• Capture field lessons learned and drive improvements into engineering, manufacturing, and factory testing.
• Help reduce repeat field issues through structured feedback and process improvement.
Selective Site Support
- Travel is needed to support critical commissioning events, escalations, or key customer interactions.
Qualifications
Required
- 7+ years of experience in electrical field services, power systems testing, or commissioning.
- Strong technical knowledge of:
- Medium- and low-voltage power distribution equipment
- Protective relays and control systems
- Electrical troubleshooting and diagnostics
- Experience leading or mentoring technical field personnel.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and control drawings.
Preferred
- Experience in a NETA-style testing or commissioning environment.
- Familiarity with structured testing practices and technical documentation standards.
- Experience working closely with engineering and manufacturing teams.
