Job Summary:
CORE Peer Support Specialists support individuals in their home and/or community:
- Providing information about mental health services and other community resources
- Provide support, advocacy and coaching to build life skills
- Assisting clients with developing and implementing a WRAP plan
- Assisting clients with learning to live more independently, including using community resources and self-advocacy
- Addressing mental health concerns and behaviors and teaching coping skills
- Documenting and maintaining appropriate records, completing paperwork in a timely manner
- Complying with HIPPA regulations
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED/HSED required.
- MUST have obtained either NYS Certified Peer Specialist (NYCPS) Provisional or Permanent certification or NYS Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA) certification and maintain or certification throughout employment.
- Reliable transportation and valid NYS driver’s license required. Must be able to with clients in the community.
- Bi-lingual in Spanish preferred.
Salary Information
$21.00 - $23.00
