Job Summary:
CORE Peer Support Specialists support individuals in their home and/or community:

  • Providing information about mental health services and other community resources
  • Provide support, advocacy and coaching to build life skills
  • Assisting clients with developing and implementing a WRAP plan
  • Assisting clients with learning to live more independently, including using community resources and self-advocacy
  • Addressing mental health concerns and behaviors and teaching coping skills
  • Documenting and maintaining appropriate records, completing paperwork in a timely manner
  • Complying with HIPPA regulations
Requirements:

 

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED/HSED required.
  • MUST have obtained either NYS Certified Peer Specialist (NYCPS) Provisional or Permanent certification or NYS Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA) certification and maintain or certification throughout employment.
  • Reliable transportation and valid NYS driver’s license required. Must be able to with clients in the community.
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish preferred.


Salary Information

$21.00 - $23.00 Hourly Wage
