At Ascension Recovery Services (ARS), we build high-quality, person-centered substance use disorder treatment programs designed to meet people where they are and help them move forward with dignity and hope. We are launching a brand-new recovery center in Long Prairie, Minnesota, and we are seeking a seasoned, mission-driven Treatment Director to lead this facility from pre-opening through stabilization and long-term growth.

This is a hands-on, high-impact leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in start-up environments, understands regulated healthcare operations, and knows how to build strong teams while balancing mission, compliance, and performance.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Executive Leadership & People Management

  • Provide overall leadership and direction for clinical, operational, and administrative teams.

  • Recruit, onboard, coach, and retain high-performing leaders and staff.

  • Establish a positive, accountable, and trauma-informed workplace culture.

  • Oversee performance management, corrective action, and leadership development.

Operations & Program Oversight

  • Direct day-to-day facility operations to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency.

  • Implement and enforce policies, procedures, and workflows aligned with ARS standards.

  • Partner with clinical leadership to ensure evidence-based, individualized care delivery.

  • Manage staffing plans, schedules, budgets, and operational performance metrics.

Compliance, Quality & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with Minnesota licensing requirements, Joint Commission standards, and all applicable federal and state regulations.

  • Oversee incident reporting, investigations, corrective action plans, and grievance resolution.

  • Promote documentation integrity and strong survey-readiness practices.

  • Uphold patient rights, confidentiality, and ethical standards at all times.

Community & Strategic Engagement

  • Serve as the primary representative of the facility within the St. Cloud community.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with referral partners, payors, and stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with ARS leadership on strategic planning, growth initiatives, and performance goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.

  • Minimum 5+ years of senior leadership experience in behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, healthcare, or human services.

  • Strong working knowledge of residential and/or outpatient treatment operations.

  • Demonstrated experience with regulatory compliance and accreditation (Joint Commission experience strongly preferred).

  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage change, and drive operational results.

  • Excellent communication, judgment, and decision-making skills.

  • CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire).

Work Conditions & Expectations

  • Full-time, exempt, on-site leadership role within a 24/7 treatment environment.

  • Availability for occasional evenings, weekends, and on-call responsibilities.

  • Ability to move throughout the facility and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

  • Limited travel may be required for training, meetings, or system leadership engagement.

Compensation & Benefits

The base compensation range for this position is $100,000-$120,000 This range reflects Ascension Recovery Services’ good-faith estimate at the time of posting. Placement within the range will be based on a variety of factors, including experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity.
