Safety Administrator
The Safety Administrator is responsible for the administration, documentation, and continuous improvement of RFNOW Inc.’s Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) program. This role is primarily office-based and focused on regulatory compliance, record management, contractor onboarding, reporting, and supporting field leadership through strong administrative systems and proactive communication.
The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining RFNOW’s Safety Management System (SMS), ensuring accurate reporting, supporting COR compliance, and coordinating safety processes across multiple projects and crews.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and administer RFNOW’s Safety Management System (SMS), policies, and procedures.
- Ensure all required safety documentation is current, complete, and properly filed (inspections, training records, FLHAs, incident reports, etc.).
- Track and monitor safety certifications, training expiries, and competency records for employees and subcontractors.
- Prepare and submit required regulatory reports to Workplace Safety & Health (MB & SK), WCB, and other agencies.
- Coordinate COR requirements, internal audits, and external audit preparation.
- Support compliance with client-specific safety requirements and prequalification programs (ISNetworld, ComplyWorks, Avetta, etc.).
- Support the pre-qualification and safety onboarding process for contractors.
- Complete new hire orientations
- Procure, Track, and dispense PPE
- Assist in coordinating investigations, compiling reports, and tracking corrective actions to completion.
- Maintain incident statistics and produce monthly and quarterly safety performance reports for management.
- Identify trends and support proactive corrective planning.
- Prepare safety meeting materials, toolbox talk templates, and internal safety bulletins.
- Support project managers and supervisors with safety documentation and compliance tracking.
- Serve as the primary administrative contact for safety-related inquiries.
- Serve as Front Desk attendant at Construction office.
Qualifications:
- Certificate or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, a preference.
- Minimum 1-5 years in safety administration or compliance.
- Field exposure helpful but not mandatory
- Working knowledge of Manitoba and Saskatchewan Workplace Safety and Health legislation.
- Working Knowledge of Federal Occupational Health and Safety laws and regulations.
- National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) designation or working toward one is an asset.
- Certified First Aid, CPR, and WHMIS training.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel to project sites and work in outdoor environments.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
Job Details:
- Occasional site visits to support documentation, audits, and orientation requirements.
- Occasional evening work may be required.
- Exposure to varying weather conditions.
- Occasional overnight travel within the region.
- Full-time
- Benefits package
- $50,000 – $60,000/yr
- Boot and coverall allowance after probationary period
- Monday – Friday
