The mission of Pusch Ridge Christian Academy is to teach its students to become like Christ through a classical, Christian education within a covenantal community.


SUMMARY

  • All faculty members are Christians, actively seeking to become like Christ, spending time in His Word, in worship, in fellowship, and in service, applying His Truth to all areas of life as a living example for students.
  • The second grade core teacher is a full-time teaching position, with class sizes ranging from 15 to 18 children. Each core teacher works in conjunction with a grade-level partner teacher to plan and collaborate. Overview of instruction includes: a phonics-based literacy program, Charlotte Mason-informed practices (recitations, narrations, copybooks, art/music/nature appreciation), Singapore math, integrated lessons around a unit theme (social studies/science), Bible lessons and biblical integration, Christian character/habit formation, problem-solving skills, small group reading instruction, spelling, grammar, cursive handwriting instruction, etc. Teachers wanted who will provide a warm, cheerful, loving, and safe environment where students will thrive and learn how to learn.
  • Attends and contributes to parent and teacher meetings necessary to the functions of the school. Meetings include weekly staff meetings, weekly faculty devotions/prayer meetings, parent meetings (as needed), parent-teacher conferences, quarterly staff in-services, after-school events, and various other planning and debrief meetings.
  • Participates fully in the life of the school in terms of academics (provides high-quality instruction); professionalism and professional development; fulfilling our mission (Christ follower, classical education, and within a covenantal community); and school culture (mentoring, modeling, engaging in collaboration and covenantal relationships); and supporting all members of the school community.
