POSITION DESCRIPTION
Service Clerk – Bakery
Function of Position:
The service clerk is responsible to the Department Manager. The service clerk stocks and maintains bakery products on the service shelves and cases and serves customer needs within the bakery department.
Major Responsibilities
- Knowledgeable of bakery products and selling techniques.
- Process, prepare, and package bakery products for display cases and shelves.
- Maintain sanitation and cleanliness in the bakery department.
- Ensure quality bakery products to maintain a high level of customer service.
- Package bakery items and stock service cases and shelves.
- Assist with effective merchandising and presentation of bakery products.
- Demonstrate or offer bakery samples to customers when appropriate.
Consistently Deliver Excellent Customer Service
- Maintain the highest level of customer service and be a friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful associate to customers, vendors, and fellow Lynn’s Inc. team members.
- If a customer asks where something is, take them directly to the product.
- Greet customers as you approach them in the store with a friendly smile and thank them for shopping at Lynn’s.
- Remember that the customer is not an interruption of our work — they are the purpose of our work.
Additional Responsibilities
- Conduct procedures for opening or closing the bakery department when appropriate.
- Perform additional duties assigned by a supervisor as appropriate.
- Comply with all applicable safety and security policies set by the Company and local, state, and federal regulations.
- Follow all Company policies in the performance of assigned duties.
- Maintain confidentiality of Company matters.
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Open availability preferred
