Job Overview:
GrizzlyTrek is currently seeking one C-Inspection and Quality Lead to join our Valued Clients team in Edmonton, Alberta. This is a full-time position, ideally suited to an individual committed to excellence, leadership, and safety. Under the guidance of the Completions Manager, the C-Inspection and Quality Lead coordinates all Completions activities from Construction Turnover through Operations Handover and serves as custodian of the Completions Management Plan and associated software systems.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate all Completions activities across project phases from Construction Turnover to Operations Handover.
Maintain and administer the Completions Management Plan and Completions Management Software (CMS).
Organize, archive, and manage turnover and handover documentation in accordance with CMS requirements.
Lead system walkdowns, inspections, punch list development, and mitigation planning.
Develop and maintain the Master Punchlist and Post-Handover/Warranty deficiency lists.
Coordinate and validate Inspection Test Records (ITRs) and system acceptance documentation.
Collaborate with Engineering, Construction, Quality, CSU, and Operations teams to ensure accurate system turnover.
Support Commissioning & Startup activities to ensure safe and efficient system validation.
Monitor commissioning progress, identify schedule conflicts, and implement mitigation plans.
Promote and actively participate in all site-specific HSE initiatives, safety meetings, and inspections.
Ensure incidents are reported, investigated, and corrective actions implemented.
Prepare daily completions status reports aligned with project schedules.
Read and interpret P&IDs, isometrics, SLDs, and loop diagrams to support accurate system turnover.
Assist deficiency mitigation teams and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum one of the following certifications: Power Engineer (minimum 4th Class), Journeyman Interprovincial Red Seal, Process Technician/Technologist, Professional Process Engineer, or PMP designation.
Minimum 10 years of relevant industrial experience.
Minimum 5 years leading commissioning and start-up completions activities.
Strong background in Completions for industrial plant commissioning.
Experience with Completions Management Software.
Working knowledge of HAZOP, Process Safety Management (PSM), and PSSR requirements.
Required safety certifications: CSTS-20, Fall Protection, Confined Space Entry & Monitoring, WHMIS, and H2S Alive.
Strong understanding of safety and environmental compliance standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in commissioning industrial gas, power generation, chemical facilities, cryogenic technologies, air separation, syngas, and CO2 capture facilities.
Experience working with major industrial suppliers with high corporate safety expectations.
Strong technical knowledge across electrical, mechanical, piping, instrumentation, and automation systems.
Work Environment:
This role requires a combination of office-based and field-based work, with approximately 50% of time spent in the field conducting walkdowns in varying weather conditions. Frequent walking, driving during commissioning and startup phases, computer-based documentation work, and review of technical documents are required. Occasional bending, crouching, kneeling, and infrequent climbing with fall protection may be necessary. Shift work flexibility is required based on project schedules.
