Position Summary
The Subaru New Car Manager is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the new vehicle sales department for Fairway Subaru. This role drives sales performance, profitability, customer satisfaction, and team development while ensuring alignment with Subaru brand standards and dealership objectives.
Requirements:Sales & Profitability
- Lead the new vehicle sales team to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Drive gross profit performance while maintaining competitive market positioning.
- Manage inventory levels, aging units, and model mix to optimize turn and profitability.
- Partner with the GSM and GM to develop pricing, marketing, and promotional strategies.
- Analyze closing ratios, lead conversion rates, and showroom traffic to improve performance.
Team Leadership & Development
- Recruit, hire, train, and coach Sales Consultants.
- Conduct regular one-on-one performance reviews and daily sales meetings.
- Develop action plans to improve individual and team results.
- Foster a high-performance, accountability-driven culture.
Customer Experience
- Ensure compliance with Subaru customer satisfaction standards and survey performance metrics.
- Resolve escalated customer concerns in a professional and timely manner.
- Promote a transparent, low-pressure sales environment consistent with the Subaru brand.
Inventory & Manufacturer Relations
- Manage factory orders, incoming allocations, and inventory mix.
- Work closely with Subaru regional representatives to maximize incentives and programs.
- Ensure compliance with manufacturer policies, programs, and facility standards.
Process & Compliance
- Enforce dealership sales processes including CRM usage, lead management, and follow-up.
- Monitor desking accuracy and deal structure before submission to F&I.
- Ensure all documentation and compliance standards are met.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of automotive sales management experience (Subaru experience preferred but not required).
- Proven track record of achieving sales and gross profit targets.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills.
- Experience managing inventory and understanding allocation processes.
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret KPIs and reports.
- Proficient in CRM systems and dealership management software.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
