About the Role:

The Cashier plays a vital role in ensuring a smooth and efficient customer transaction experience within the accommodation and food services industry. This position is responsible for accurately processing customer purchases, handling cash and electronic payments, and providing exceptional customer service to enhance guest satisfaction. The role requires maintaining a clean and organized checkout area, managing repetitive tasks with attention to detail, and supporting overall store operations through janitorial duties and inventory assistance. Flexibility in scheduling is essential to meet the dynamic needs of the business, including peak hours and weekends. Ultimately, the Cashier contributes to a welcoming environment that encourages repeat business and positive customer interactions.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in cashiering or customer service roles.
  • Basic math skills and ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions and stand for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds safely.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in the accommodation and food services industry.
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and cash register operations.
  • Strong phone etiquette and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate cash registers to process sales transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Handle cash, credit, and electronic payments while ensuring proper change is given.
  • Greet customers warmly, answer questions, and provide information about products and services.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area and perform light janitorial duties as needed.
  • Assist with lifting and carrying heavy items to support stock replenishment and store maintenance.
  • Manage phone calls professionally, addressing customer inquiries and directing calls appropriately.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding cash handling and customer service.
  • Work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet business demands.
