Hojoko is a fun, high-energy izakaya (Japanese Tavern) located in The Verb Hotel in the Fenway Neighborhood of Boston. Hojoko’s kitchen encompasses live fire cooking over traditional Japanese binchotan charcoal, an award-winning burger, all the way to a sushi program that utilizes fish from Japan’s famed Toyosu Fish Market. We are looking to add a Barback to our growing team.


General Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Restock liquor, beer, wine, glassware, and bar supplies before, during, and after shifts
  • Maintain cleanliness of the bar area, including washing glassware and cleaning surfaces 
  • Assist with garnishes, syrups, and cocktail batch preparation
  • Receive and properly store deliveries; monitor inventory levels
  • Support bartenders by delivering drinks and anticipating service needs
  • Set up and break down bar stations
  • Follow all food, beverage, health, and safety guidelines
  • Attend required trainings and perform other assigned duties
