Advanced Tooling Engineer

US Farathane is seeking an Advanced Tooling Engineer to work at our Corporate Tech Center on-site in Auburn Hills.
The Advanced Tooling Engineer works with sales and cost estimating upfront to complete feasibility reports as required, including the planning, development, deployment, and execution of new tools. Must be willing to travel to out of state plants to help work on continuous improvement projects as required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ensures all tooling meets or exceeds, cycle time, dimensional, appearance, and all plant requirements.
  • Supports new business with feasibility feedback.
  • Work on Continuous improvement projects in the plant.
Qualifications:
  • Technical degree preferred, or journeyman card with technical associates degree and 5 years' automotive experience.
  • 7-10 years automotive industry experience, preferably in injection molding industry.
  • 7-10 years' experience or understanding of tool design and process and / or die and equipment construction.
  • Ability to physically work on tools in the press as needed to support the plant.
