SUMMARY: As an Account Manager, you will play a critical role in maintaining and growing strong relationships with our customers. You will help ensure all shipments are executed effectively and incompliance with our systems, SOPs, KPIs, and procedures while continuously and proactively building relationships with our customers to support our goal of being the first choice in every market we serve.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and maintain strong relationships with dry freight customersNegotiate competitive rates with both customers and carriers to secure cost-effective freight solutionsMonitor and manage carrier capacity to ensure on-time serviceQuickly address and resolve any shipment issuesCollaborate with internal sales and operations teams to align carrier solutions with customer and shipment requirementsStay current on industry trends, market rates, and capacity shiftsUtilize MercuryGate TMS and HubSpot CRM for daily operationsKNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:
Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skillsHighly organized with strong attention to detailAbility to communicate L&M Transportation’s value proposition and differentiate our services through professional presentation and communicationAbility to analyze market trends and develop capacity strategiesSkilled in carrier and customer acquisition, relationship building, and rate negotiationExperienced in load booking, crisis management, and shipment recoveryAble to work independently and collaborativelyEDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma / GED requiredBachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field preferred2+ years of experience in logistics or a transportation-related field preferredProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and PowerPoint)WORK ENVIRONMENT:
