Health Council of Northwest Ohio (HCNO) is seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Philanthropy and Business Development to lead our efforts in developing, strengthening, and stewarding relationships with businesses, community partners, and nonprofit organizations to support our mission of improving health outcomes in the region. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive philanthropy and business development strategy to increase organizational revenue and strengthen community partnerships.
- Cultivate, steward, and expand relationships with area businesses, foundations, community organizations, and other potential partners to support collaborative health initiatives.
- Lead fundraising efforts, including identifying prospects, cultivating donors, and securing direct donations and sponsorships from businesses and community partners.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute fundraising events, including logistics, engagement strategies, promotion, sponsorship development, and post-event follow-up.
- Identify opportunities for strategic collaboration with other nonprofits and community stakeholders to advance regional health outcomes and expand program impact.
- Prepare and deliver presentations, proposals, and materials that effectively communicate the mission, value, and outcomes of the organization.
- Develop and manage systems for donor recognition, stewardship, and ongoing relationship management.
- Track fundraising progress, donor data, and partnership engagement; prepare reports for leadership and the Board as required.
- Represent the organization at community meetings, networking events, conferences, and other engagement opportunities.
- Assist leadership with strategic planning, organizational initiatives, and special projects related to philanthropy or business development.
- Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business, communications, public relations, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Demonstrated success in fundraising, philanthropy, or business development within a nonprofit or health-related environment required.
- Proven experience cultivating donor and partner relationships, securing sponsorships, and generating revenue through philanthropic initiatives.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders and community partners.
- Experience planning and executing fundraising events strongly desired.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with donor management systems, CRM platforms, or fundraising databases preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and represent the organization professionally in public settings.
- Local and regional travel required for meetings, events, and engagement activities; some evenings and/or weekend work may be required.
