About this position
We are seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Pulmonary & Critical Care Physician to join a growing team serving the Jacksonville, FL area. This role offers variety and impact across a hospital setting, rehabilitation hospitals/centers, and optional outpatient pulmonary office/clinic (based on your interests).
You’ll work alongside experienced clinical staff with strong interdisciplinary support to provide comprehensive pulmonary and critical care services across the continuum—from ICU management to post-acute recovery and follow-up care.
Primary Practice Settings
Acute Care Hospital (ICU and inpatient pulmonary consults)
Rehabilitation Hospitals / Rehabilitation Centers (respiratory/pulmonary management, ventilator weaning support when applicable, complex chronic disease follow-up)
Optional Outpatient Office/Clinic (pulmonary clinic, follow-ups, chronic disease management)
Key Responsibilities
Provide critical care coverage including ICU rounding, ventilator management, and acute respiratory failure care
Perform inpatient pulmonary consults and manage complex respiratory conditions
Provide pulmonary oversight and continuity care in rehabilitation hospitals/centers, including chronic respiratory disease management and coordination with therapy/rehab teams
Perform procedures as appropriate, such as:
Bronchoscopy (if applicable)
Thoracentesis
Chest tube management
Central line placement and airway/vent management (based on facility model)
Collaborate with hospitalists, ED, case management, respiratory therapy, nursing, rehab teams, and specialty consultants
Participate in quality initiatives, evidence-based protocols, and multidisciplinary rounds
Schedule & Call (Customize as Needed)
Flexible scheduling options may include: block scheduling, shared call, and/or a mix of ICU + rehab rounding days
Call structure: shared/rotating (details based on final coverage model)
Qualifications
MD or DO
Completion of Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine fellowship
Board Certified or Board Eligible (Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine)
Eligible for Florida medical licensure and credentialing
