Join our team as a Medical Records Manager and play a critical role in ensuring medical records are accurate, secure, compliant, and readily accessible. In this leadership role, you’ll oversee health information systems, support clinical and operational teams, and serve as a key guardian of confidentiality and compliance.

What You’ll Do

Ensure confidentiality, security, accuracy, and completeness of all medical and mental health records Oversee release of information in compliance with state, federal, and HIPAA regulations Serve as the facility HIPAA Security Officer, ensuring information systems maintain confidentiality, integrity, and availability Abstract and enter admitting and discharge diagnoses using ICD-10-CM codes as needed Maintain systems tracking diagnoses, treatments, admissions, discharges, and transfers Establish and manage record sign-out and completion tracking systems Conduct monthly quantitative reviews to ensure compliance with accreditation, licensure, and regulatory standards Respond timely to authorized medical record requests and maintain disclosure documentation Participate in electronic medical record (EMR) updates and revisions Support internal staff, auditors, and reviewers by facilitating access to records and explaining documentation standards Provide feedback to multidisciplinary teams regarding documentation deficiencies Support quality improvement initiatives, including care screen audits Keep leadership informed of activities, issues, risks, and upcoming needs

What We’re Looking For

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Medical Records, or a related field (required)

Experience

Three (3) years of leadership experience in information management within a healthcare setting (preferred) One (1) year of ICD-10-CM coding experience or experience in healthcare management/medical records (preferred)

Licenses & Certifications

RHIA or RHIT certification through AHIMA (required) Any additional client-mandated certifications or training (required)
