We are growing and building a structured Application Sales Engineering team to support increasing demand and system complexity.

Position Overview

The Application Sales Engineer I is responsible for the technical-commercial ownership of standard automation systems from quotation through shipment confirmation.

This role supports the Sales organization by ensuring accurate system configuration, margin compliance, and efficient execution of standard robot systems. The position plays a direct role in revenue throughput and customer experience.

This is not a design engineering role. It is a revenue-aligned pre-sales engineering position focused on standard system execution and commercial coordination.

What You’ll Do

Quoting & Configuration

  • Prepare quotations for standard robot systems (robot only, robot + riser, predefined configurations)

  • Ensure pricing accuracy and margin compliance

  • Maintain high quote turnaround time

  • Validate system configurations prior to order release

Commercial Ownership

  • Review and validate incoming customer orders

  • Coordinate internally to confirm production and ship dates

  • Communicate confirmed shipment timelines to Sales and customers

  • Track shipment release and provide status updates as needed

  • Ensure smooth handoff between Sales, Operations, and Shipping

Sales Support

  • Serve as primary technical contact for standard system offerings

  • Respond to configuration and product-related questions

  • Provide documentation and product clarification to Sales

What This Role Is Not

  • Not custom automation design

  • Not engineered layout development

  • Not end-of-arm-tooling design

  • Not installation scheduling

  • Not production problem ownership

More complex or custom systems are handled by senior application engineers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field (or equivalent technical experience)

  • 2–5 years of experience in automation, robotics, manufacturing, or technical sales support

  • Strong mechanical and/or automation aptitude

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

  • Comfortable working cross-functionally

  • ERP or CRM system experience preferred

  • Strong communication skills
